Strategy, product & production for drink and CPG brands

Find the gap on the shelf, then fill it.

I'm a beverage consultant for early-stage drink and CPG brands. I start with the market: who is buying, what is already on the shelf, and where the price gaps are. Then I shape a brand position around what I find, and build the product that can hold that position on a real production line.

Questions I ask first

Before we pour anything, I ask these.

Market

Who is buying this on a Tuesday, and what are they drinking instead?

Position

If the label were covered, would anyone know it was yours?

Product

Which flavours earn a place in the range, and which are a founder's favourite?

Price

What will the shelf pay, and what does it cost to make the same drink every time?

How a project runs

From gap on the shelf to bottle on the line.

01
Research

Read the market

Category and competitor scan, price-ladder mapping, channel and consumer research, and a diagnostic of the product and operational gaps in the brand today.

You getA market map and a gap report
02
Position

Pick the spot

Who the drink is for, what the brand stands for, where it sits on shelf and on price, and how the range is built around that.

You getA positioning brief
03
Product

Build the drink

Flavour architecture, formulation and trials, vendor sourcing, packaging specifications and a costed recipe for every SKU.

04
Production

Prove it on the line

Cost modelling, line set-up, quality systems, food safety and regulatory readiness, supply chain and a launch plan.

Every stage ends in writing: what I found, the reasoning behind each call, and the numbers underneath. You keep the record, so your team and your investors can follow the logic.
Where I learned it

I learned this by building it.

9+years in beverage operations and product development
20,000+cases a month, up from 50 cases a day
10+clients across FMCG, hospitality, technology, lifestyle and sustainability

At Foxtrot Beverages I set up the manufacturing facility and led new products, including co-branded launches with leading global brands. After that came Third Eye Distillery and Hygge Brew, and now independent work with beverage and CPG brands.

Where it started

Svami: a mixer brand made in Mumbai.

Svami is the Mumbai drinks brand of Foxtrot Beverages, founded in 2016 as a response to the gin revival. It makes all-natural premium mixers, including tonic waters, ginger ale and sodas, with low-sugar versions among the first in Asia, and it does the recipes, brewing and bottling in-house.

The range has since grown into non-alcoholic ready-to-drink cocktails and co-branded launches, including mixers with Moët Hennessy India and a cucumber Kölsch with Bira 91.

It is where I built the factory and led new products. Everything I now bring to other brands was tested there first.
